Sales Manager

Overview:

Reporting to the Director of Sales & Marketing, this position is responsible for planning, implementing and managing the sales activities of the Company in a designated area to achieve sales objectives.

General Responsibilities:

  • Lead, Manage and hold accountable the sales team consisting of Outside Sales, Inside Sales, Customer Service Representative and Special Events Coordinator
  • Develop a sales strategy to achieve company sales goals and revenues
  • Develop and utilize reports and metrics to measure sales performance
    • Provide regular reporting to Director of Sales & Marketing
  • New hire onboarding/training
    • Revise and expand training as needed
  • Continuously identify and develop SOP’s (standards of procedure)
  • Set monthly individual sales goals and quarterly team sales goals
  • Act as the liaison between all departments to maintain cohesion
  • Ensure sales team has the required resources to be successful
    • Proactively identify and develop resources as needed
  • Work with Director of Sales & Marketing to maintain a spiff structure that challenges and creates incentive for the sales team
  • Evaluate performance of the sales team and coach them on ways to improve
    • Proactively identify and facilitate coaching opportunities
  • Work with DSM to forecast/budget annual, quarterly and monthly sales revenue, including development and implementation of metrics and sales incentives
  • Conduct market research and competitor and customer analysis
  • Maintain technical ability to use and advise sales staff on Company propriety software
  • LMA customer service matters, cultivate effective business relationships with decision makers in key accounts, investigate lost sales and generate new sales opportunities
  • Confer with potential customers regarding product needs and advise the appropriate product to suit the project

Experience:

  • Experience in planning and implementing sales strategies
  • Sales skills in cold calling, inside and outside sales
  • Proven experience in customer service relationship management
  • Knowledge of market research
  • Experience in managing and directing a sales team
  • Relevant product and industry knowledge a plus
  • Competency in Microsoft Office including Excel spreadsheets
  • Data interpretation for reports, metrics and analysis
  • Quick Books experience a plus
  • 3-5 years as a senior sales or sales manager or relevant experience
